livin' it up

Today's high point was a cheese scone from Mark's and Sparks. Whether you pronounce 'scone' correctly, like me, or incorrectly, an M&S cheese scone takes some beating. Although competition was conspicuously absent today. Take the St Michael's challenge soon. Satisfaction guaranteed!

MMMMMM, Cheese scones.Was the cheese strong enough to make the top of your mouth itch? This for me is the benchmark for a TOP cheese scone / scoooone / flour and water based cake. (Delete as applicable)
To follow Bill Bryson, why are we english so excited about bland treats? Present an american with a tea cake or a crumpet and they will be asking where is the M and M topping, with a melted mars bars and side serving of double cream and a flake is? With some waffles as a side dish...............
